Essential Vegetarian Supplies

As all good cooks know a well stocked pantry is the base of any great meal, but it also insures you have ingredients on hand for simple, quick and delicious meals on the go. There are a number of ingredients that are worth stocking up on to insure there is a constant supply in your pantry.

  • Canned Goods: tomatoes, coconut cream/milk and a variety of beans such as haricot, butter, kidney or baked beans and also tined chickpeas and lentils
  • Oils: olive, peanut, sesame, sunflower and a variety of vegetable oils
  • Sauces, spreads and condiments: mustards, tamari, chutneys, relish, tahini, peanut butter, vegemite, vinegars like red wine and balsamic
  • Dried beans and pulses: Split peas, lentils, chickpeas, cannellini beans to name a few
  • Cereals and Grains: Polenta, couscous, buckwheat, oats, rice, barley, noodles and pasta
  • Nuts and seeds: almonds, brazil nuts, sesame seeds, walnuts, cashews, peanuts, pine nuts and many more
  • Dried Fruits: apricots, pears, figs etc
