Shopping for a vegetarian diet is much like shopping for any healthy diet, plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, pulses, grains and cereals. Make sure to stock up on all the goodies and basic elements to delicious dishes and shop in a variety of places to insure you get fresh, authentic and exciting ingredients.

When buying processed food it is important to take a closer look at the label. Many processed foods can contain animal derived ingredients such as rennet in cheese or gelatine in yoghurts; it is worth learning a little more about products that may contain animal derived ingredients. Once you are aware of what to look out for choosing vegetarian food becomes second nature.
