Vegetarian Christmas Dinner

For many of us the holiday season means at least one special meal, if not many, shared with family and friends. Whether your gathering is small and intimate or a huge family affair being a vegetarian can sometimes be a little challenging or at the very least awkward, especially at a time when the traditional menu is focused on meat dishes.

But, being vegetarian doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the traditional warmth and deliciousness of Christmas and holiday food. Festive food is all about serving something a little special; those dishes that look beautiful, present well and are full of wonderfully comforting and tempting ingredients that everyone will enjoy.

So for those of us who are veggie or simply want to add a little healthy vegetarian flair to our Christmas or festive menus I have gathered together a short list of some of my favourite and most festive Veggie num num recipes for a bit of inspiration.

The following vegetarian recipes are full of all the good things you’d typically find on a traditional Christmas menu and are suitable to serve to the whole family. Whether you’re hosting your own gathering or preparing a dish to include in a festive celebration I hope you find some inspiration in the menu ideas below.

Great spread! You’re right, being a vegetarian at Christmas can sometimes be a little awkward, but there are so many wonderful options, as your recipe suggestions show. The berry self saucing pudding looks delicious! Yum!
